Mining Specialist - Sales Executive

Description

  • The Victaulic Mining Specialist is responsible for profitably increasing the mining market share that Victaulic holds in a geographic region. This will be accomplished by a thorough understanding of: the mining industry, mining piping systems, Victaulic’s use in those systems, and by utilizing the MBO goals and objectives process, in conjunction with the quality improvement process. We will consider candidates from outside the local area. 
  • Relocation Assistance Is Offered For This Position.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the Quality Improvement Process to fulfill position responsibilities and improve work processes.
  • Develop and implement a yearly business plan that achieves market, product, and profitability targets through a uniform, account driven MBO process.
  • The following responsibilities will be the primary components of the Mining Specialist's MBO process:
  • The Mining Specialist will target a designated and agreed upon number of accounts. The target accounts will be developed to the fullest degree based on our definition of account ownership and TSS selling. Progress with the target accounts will be measured and reported on monthly.
  •   The Mining Specialist will target a designated and agreed upon number of engineers/owners. The target engineers/owners will be developed to the fullest degree based on our definition of account ownership and TSS selling. Progress with the target engineers/owners will be measured and reported on monthly.
  • Complete account development is defined:
  • Develop relationships with the owner/president or specific decision-makers.
  • Understand the account's business strategies and their position in the marketplace.
  • Design and implement a strategy to sell the complete line of Victaulic products and Aquamine.
  • Negotiate with the account/distributor, when necessary. Negotiate a package.
  • Use Company resources to ensure complete account development (market managers, seismic sales, seminars, product demos, etc.)
  • Measure progress with the target accounts on a monthly basis, including priority products.
  • Strategic planning for mining sales in a territory will be in collaboration with the National Mining Manager. This will include coordination of target account development. All pricing will be approved by the National Mining Sales Manager and the Vice President -Sales & Market Development.

Develop a complete understanding of:

  • Product features, benefits and applications
  • Tools
  • All requirements of our Sales Force Automation
  • Develop and implement an effective and balanced distribution network. The Mining Specialist will actively participate in the Distributor Development Process including distributor follow-ups on a quarterly basis.
  • Understand the construction cycle and successfully influence decision-makers at all influences (owner, engineer, contractor) to maximize Victaulic's sales potential.
  • Keep management fully informed of market trends, competition, pricing, and new products.
  • Communicate activities to appropriate personnel within the specialist's geographic area of responsibility (i.e., line sales and regional managers).
  • Fulfill all corporate administrative requirements.

Qualifications:

  • College graduate.
  • Previous mining sales experience.
  • Self-motivated, confident.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; professional image.
  • Must meet the agreed upon travel requirements of the position which can be extensive.
  • Team player.
  • Competitive, flexible, resilient by nature.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of commercial construction process desirable.
  • Must be willing and able to visit underground mining operations.
  • Relocation may also be provided
