Training Officer (Staff/management in Mining Background)

My client is one of the largest metallurgical mining organisations in the world, with operations in Canada, America and the UK. Over the next 2 years, we plan to more than triple coal production through organic growth alone, and we are looking for skilled, motivated people to join the organisation at this exciting time.

We operate in the UK near Glynneath which is an underground drift mine , within the heart of South Wales. At our mine, we are currently expanding our operations to access a new area of reserves which will extend the life of the mine for the foreseeable future, utilising highly mechanised state-of-the-art systems.

They are now looking for a Training Officer, but with the caviar that this person must have a mining background. The important thing is that this person has a ‘staff’ background in mining, doesn't necessarily have to be as a training officer as its more important to me that they understand the environment and the relevant areas of expertise than to have operated in a training capacity. It could be a former engineer, deputy, manager, safety professional etc but they must have worked in a mine. Again, we are not concerned if they’ve spent some time away from the industry.
