Our client is a large diversified engineering services group, they design and deliver mine, rail and port projects for the resources and infrastructure sectors both in Australia and select international markets.
They are moving into the next phase of their EPCM expansion projects and currently have the opportunity for a cost controller to provide accurate commercial advice to the Lead Cost Controller and Project Management team on all cost matters relating to the change process associated with introducing automated trains to the stockyards
As a knowledgeable Cost Controller, you will have previous experience working within the resources sector as the responsibilities of the position will be for all assigned Costing activities on the Project (including but not limited to budgets, manning plans, invoicing, timesheet administration, personnel approval)
The successful candidate will provide technical and operational direction to Costing personnel and will develop and execute objectives, standards and procedures applicable to cost control and analysis activities.
Duties will include but will not be limited to:
· Taking part in costing reviews.
· Analysing all information to be able to highlight any problem areas and to be able to explain all data presented.
· Develop tools to monitor labour costs.
· Identifying ways to improve and streamline work processes.
· Helping and mentoring junior members of the team so they are proficient on the systems and work processes involved.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:
· 3 -5 years experience in the Mining sector as a Cost Controller.
· Previous experience on site would be viewed favourably
· A successful track record of accurately recording, analyzing, interpreting and forecasting cost data for large projects.
· Excellent organisational and communication skills.
· Experience with EPCM is highly desirable.
