Geologist

A large opencast mine in the Northern Cape seeks a Geologist to supervise pit operation, and undertake geological mapping and core logging.

The successful candidate will report to the Exploration Manager

Minimum Requirements

Minimum qualification:         

• Post graduate in geology

Relevant experience:

• A motivated and enthusiastic individual, with a strong interest in exploration and understanding ore systems
• A Bachelors degree in Geology
• 2+ years’ experience in mining and/or exploration environments
• Committed to improving occupational health and safety standards
• A proven capacity to operate independently and within a team as required
• Excellent communication and organisational skills

Eagerness to enhance their professional career Software skills:                          

• Working knowledge in SURPAC will be an advantage
• Proficient in the use of mining, GIS, database and other relevant analytical software
• Knowledge of geological specialized software
