Senior Risk & Safety Consultant
Description
- [Company] is seeking an experienced Senior Risk & Safety Consultant to join our team in Houston, TX.
Responsibilities:
- Lead our hazard and risk assessment projects for oil and gas exploration, production, midstream, refining, distribution, and retail facilities through the development of formal safety assessments (FSA) and safety case development.
- Use experience with onshore and offshore safety regulations, as well as qualitative skills such as Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Hazard Identification (HAZID), Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP), Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and Bow-Tie Diagramming (prevention/recovery analysis) and quantitative skills such as consequence modeling, cost benefit analysis, Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA), As Low as Reasonably Practicable demonstration (ALARP) and other risk-assessment studies to perform the above duties.
- Design, review and upgrade health, safety and environmental (HSE) management systems for capital investment projects using experience working in accordance with regulations such as International Organization for Standardization (ISO), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Process Safety Management (PSM), and hazard identification and risk assessment work for oil and gas facilities through entire life cycle (conception through abandonment), as well as safe culture development and safety intervention in construction and operations.
- Serve as Project Manager on various projects.
- Make detailed plans to accomplish goals of the projects.
- Review and recommend risk analysis study designs and changes.
- Supervise the development of safety management system descriptions.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of safety workshops.
- Review FSA summaries and present findings to clients.
- Review data and information analysis to improve client’s processes and reduce environmental risk.
- Ensure that projects are completed on-time and within budgetary constraints.
- Use in-house mathematical models, PHA Pro, PHA Leader, Bow-tie XP and PHAST to perform the above duties.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Safety & Health, Civil, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- 6 years of experience in the job, as a Safety Consultant, Safety Analyst, HSE Manager, Risk Engineering Lead or a related occupation.
