Accounts Payable Officer

Our client is an Australian Mining company based in West Perth with an annual turnover of approximately $300m. They have operations throughout Australia with exciting plans for further growth going into 2012. 


About the Role: 
You will be based in the companies head office in West Perth and form part of a team of 10 reporting directly to the accounts payable supervisor. This is a high volumed and fast paced accounting department that demands strong communication skills to liaise with both internal and external parties. You will be part of a welcoming and supportive team that has a reputation for fast and effective processing of the company's accounts payable function.


Key Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for:
  • End-to-end responsibility for accounts payable function
  • Reconcile invoices to the purchase ledger
  • Match, batch and coding
  • Maintain the general ledger
  • Liaise with external parties in a professional manner to resolve any queries
  • Ad hoc duties

Key Skills and Requirements:
  • Knowledge of Pronto is desirable but not essential
  • 3 years accounts payable experience
  • Mining experience is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to process high volumes of invoices
