Civil Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

• The successful candidate/s will provide planning, design and construction expertise for water resource, civil engineering and large earthworks and environmental projects. As part of a multi-disciplinary team you will apply your hydrotechnical and civil engineering capabilities to a variety of projects.

Responsibilities include:

• Working with [Company] clients to provide detailed design and construction support of large surface water diversion and water management projects
• Involved in various aspects of project planning, design and construction
• The range of tasks will include performing hydraulic and civil/structural analysis, design and assessment of surface water diversions, water intakes, pump stations, pipelines, surface water outlets to rivers, water control structures and mine infrastructure
• Providing engineering support during construction
• Managing multiple project technical deadlines, budgets and scope changes
• Offering innovative solutions to clients through business development initiatives and on site meetings
• Assisting with bid and proposal packages
• Provide technical direction to junior staff
• Able to work in Alberta, Canada on long-term assignments

Job Requirements:

The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

• Degree in Civil Engineering (with experience or a focus on Water Resources, Geotechnical or Hydraulic structures)
• Must be a professional engineer with the ability to become registered in Alberta, Canada
• 10 plus years’ experience providing technical water management solutions for oil sands development, mining, hydropower and municipal projects
