Recruiter with HR Generalist Experience
Job Responsibilities:
- The Walnut Creek, CA office of Golder Associates Inc. is seeking an experienced Recruiter with HR Generalist experience for our California region. This position performs a variety of HR Generalist functions and full cycle recruiting of technical positions. This is a “hands on” support role providing exemplary customer service to an internal client base which requires balancing multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment in order to fulfill business needs.
Responsibilities of the position include:
- Developing and posting open positions;
- Determining applicant requirements by studying job description and job qualifications;
- Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements;
- Recommends applicants for interviews and arranges Hiring Manager interviews by coordinating schedules; arranges travel and lodging as required;
- Participates in interviews as required and assists Hiring Managers in identifying and creating job related interview questions;
- Avoids legal challenges by understanding current legislation; enforcing regulations with managers; recommending new procedures; conducting training;
- Checks applicant references and drafting offer letters for new hires;
- Affirmative Action Plan outreach and tracking;
- Monitors for compliance to Federal, State, and local laws and company policies;
- Conducts employee orientation and other training programs;
- Explains benefits to employees and coordinate the open enrollment process for the California offices;
- Reviews employee complaints and ensuring accurate and timely documentation of concerns or issues;
- Facilitates actions to resolve employee issues and escalating them to the HR Director as necessary;
- Maintains personnel and recruiting files;
- Provides high level of technical expertise with Microsoft Office suite of programs, iCIMS applicant tracking system, and Ceridian HRIS;
- Perform various other related duties as required and assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of progressive HR Generalist and Recruiting experience in California (will consider equivalent experience in lieu of degree);
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proper use of English language, punctuation, spelling, grammar and writing techniques;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs. Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and recordkeeping;
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision; exercise judgment and make sound decisions under pressure;
- High level of organization skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize work;
- High level of responsiveness to internal clients;
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality;
- Flexibility to travel to satellite offices; travel frequency is estimated to be no more than 10% maximum annually.
- Flexibility to accommodate business needs and varying duties;
- No relocation is provided.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years OFCCP compliance experience;
- Experience in a professional services environment;
- Experience working for a national or multi-state employer;
- PHR Certification
