QA Engineering Technician

Job Summary:

  • As [Company] strives toward world-class performance in all categories of business practices, it is imperative to have careful and thoughtful data capture and analysis for all sources of Information available to the Company. Working under the direction of the QA Engineer, the QA Engineering Tech will support a variety of programs. The tech will be responsible for Floor auditing for W/O compliance, inspection data collection, 1st Piece inspections sign-off. The tech will support the QA Engineer in Customer Feedback investigations, floor SPC data collection and trend monitoring. The tech will support SQE projects for data collection and analysis for both new and existing raw materials, and suppliers. The tech may support NPI activities associated with data collection and analysis for newly deployed products and processes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing floor audits for compliance: W/O
  • Manufacturing floor audits for compliance: First Piece Inspection and sign-off
  • Manufacturing floor audits for compliance: SPC Trends 
  • Data collection to support timely analyses of Customer Feedback
  • Provides SQE support for new raw materials and suppliers

Requirements

  • Good communication skills
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9000
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stay focused on priorities
  • Good understanding of manufacturing operations and processes • Good interpersonal skills. • High energy, enthusiasm, and strong interest in manufacturing. • Computer literate; ERP systems, Microsoft Windows, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel programs.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Lean experience should include the participation and/or leading at least 5 kaizen events using the Toyota Production Systems methodology as well as experience in the use and implementation of the following lean tools: value stream mapping, standard work, 5S, visual controls, Kanban, Jidoka, etc.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Assoc. degree in science or
  • At least 7-8 years relevant experience with supplier quality, quality assurance, quality engineering
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9000 standard
