Field Support Technician

Key Duties:

• Troubleshoot electrical distribution equipment to resolve electrical/mechanical field issues and make necessary repairs
• Conduct electrical testing and recommend or initiate modification or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards 
• Plans and records periodic electrical testing, and recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards
• Checks functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions
• Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal instructions
• Adjust, calibrate, align, and modifies circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance
• The Field Support  Technician will work with the local Sales Representative and Project Manager to insure positive customer response
• The Field Support Technician is expected to gain respect from customers and grow business through personal growth in product line

Requirements:  

• Strong electrical and mechanical background with a minimum of 3-5  years of practical work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent overall troubleshooting skills, including but not limited to electrical and mechanical aspects of mining equipment
• Knowledge of practices, methods, techniques, tools and equipment used in the design, manufacture, installation, testing, calibration, and repair of electrical equipment and devices common to the mining industry
• Must have thorough knowledge and understanding of high voltage electrical testing and safety procedures
• Experience in calibrating and repairing a wide variety of electrical  equipment and instrumentation devices
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
• Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain various electrical tools, testing devices, meters, etc.
• Strong customer service background
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision,
• depth perception and ability to adjust focus; frequently stand; sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Current MSHA electrical certification both surface and underground 
• Current 40 hour MSHA miner certification
• 48 hour work week and be on-call
