Our client is one of the most respected global groups specialising in ground engineering and environmental services. Due to continued expansion, an opportunity now exists for a Geochemical Scientist to join the Brisbane office.

Duties in this role will include:
  • Analysis using multiple tools to characterise mine soil, waste rock and tailings;
  • Undertaking geochemical modelling using applications such as PHREEQC and Geochemists Workbench;
  • Provide high quality written technical consulting reports, and an ability to provide evidence of this would be advantageous;
  • Visits to visit mine sites and other project sites will be required on an as needed basis.
It is essential that all applicants are able to demonstrate the ability to complete tasks and reports within nominated time frames and budgets. The ability to provide clear and concise oral communication for both internal and external to ensure requirements are understood and met. 

It is envisaged the successful applicant will possess:
  • Masters/BSc Honors in chemistry, earth science or related subjects;
  • 2 to 5 years previous experience in geochemical or related field;
  • A keen interest in working within the mining sector in the areas of mine waste and mine water management;
  • Knowledge of PHREEQC and Geochemists Workbench would be viewed favourably;
  • Experience  working on mine sites would be desirable;
  • Ideally have an understanding of mine water treatment systems;
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
