Senior Surveyor

Leading mining company requires the above individual with the following.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications & experience essential:

• Grade 12/ Standard 10
• Chamber of Mines Advanced Survey Certificate or Equivalent / National Diploma in Mine Surveying / Bachelor of Technology Degree in Mine Surveying / National Higher Diploma in Mineral Resource Management.
• 4-5 Years Surface and Underground Mine Surveying Experience.

Qualifications & experience an advantage:

• Knowledge of CAD systems (Microstation and Modelmaker).
• Knowledge of GPS.
• Registration with Institute of Mine Surveyors / PLATO (South African Council for Professional and Technical Surveyors).
• Chamber of Mines Advanced Valuation Certificate.

Job Specification

Responsibilities:

• Surveying services
• Effective and accurate services by executing preparatory duties and surveys.
• Assist and guide Surveyors in problem solving.

Administration and data control

• Maintenance and storage of surveying data.

Customer relations

• Maintain internal and external relations, including the interface with external providers responsible to ensure departmental needs are met and employees are satisfied.
• Provide relevant and specialised technical support to applicable stakeholders.

People management

• Manage own team’s performance.
• Recruit and select employees.
• Manage employee relations.
• Train and develop employees

• Enhance safety awareness throughout working area.
• Ensure working area and equipment is clean and safe at all times and in good working condition.
• Ensure and comply with safety standards guidelines, policies and procedures.
