Project Geologist

Northern Superior Resources is a junior exploration company focused on the exploration and development of gold deposits in the Superior Province of Canada.  We are currently seeking a highly motivated geologist for the position of “Project Geologist” to manage a number of field programs in Ontario and Quebec.

Qualifications Required:

• Candidate must have completed a B.Sc. in Geology.
• Registered as a Professional Geoscientist in good standing in Ontario or Quebec, or qualified for immediate registration.
• A minimum of 4 years of field based experience.
• Experienced in drilling, ground geophysics, core logging, geochemical sampling in glaciated terranes and technical reporting.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving and organizational skills are required.
• The candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision as well as within a team environment.
• Strong MS Office skills and preference will be given to candidates with experience in ArcGIS and Gemcom or other 3D modelling applications.

Job Description: The successful candidate will participate in, design and manage field projects including ground geophysical surveys, core drilling, bedrock mapping, prospecting and till sampling.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Travel and work in remote sites.
• Supervision and participation in  mapping, drillcore logging and geochemical sampling.
• Technical reporting including assessment reports.
• Budgeting and scheduling of various field programs.
• Program logistics, including procurement of project materials and resources.
• Supervision and management of various contractors and service providers.
• Liaise with First Nation.

Work Location: Field programs are presently located in Northern Ontario and Quebec.  Technical reporting and interpretation activities can be undertaken from a home office; however, travel to the exploration office located in Sudbury, Ontario is a requirement.
