Environmental Field Technician I
Opportunity:
- AMEC is seeking a field technician to join our environmental sciences group in the San Francisco, California, office. We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to contribute to a variety of challenging field projects with some office responsibilities relating to environmental site investigation including Phase I assessments, sampling and monitoring programs, and site remediation.
- Education and experience: High school diploma; 1 to 2+ years environmental experience. OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and asbestos sampling certifications a plus.
Requirements:
- Basic field investigation skills (e.g., soil and groundwater sampling)
- Mathematical aptitude
- Phase I investigation experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with basic computer programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Ability to work effectively with team members as well as independently
- Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities
- Valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record
Responsibilities:
- Field work, including soil and groundwater sampling, and general site inspections/assessments
- Collect routine data, perform routine calculations and measurements
- Write daily reports
- Observe routine construction operations
- Basic data management and evaluation, quality assurance/quality control
- Assist in preparation of reports, including text and graphics.
- Travel locally and out of area, as necessary
