Sr. Test Engineer

Position Summary

• Performs intermediate software testing activities including, but not limited to, test architecture, test development, planning, scheduling, cost assessment and execution under the direction of the Team Leader. Has responsibility for given aspects of test within a program. Has indirect supervision of test technicians on assigned projects.
• Responsible for contributing to the development of new test procedures. Focus is on delivering high quality product, in an efficient manger.
• Perform intermediate product testing on firmware based projects at the module, integration and functional level.
• Contributes to the creation of test procedures.
• Responsible for the realization of test stations for automation and functional testing.
• Executes product functional test plans and test cases from product Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS) and firmware High Level Design documents (HLDD).
• Use of software tools to improve the functional testing process.
• Execute product firmware test plans.
• Contributes to the design and implementation of product and system test set-ups.
• Participate in software/product design and safety reviews.
• Participate in the reviews of test plans and test cases.
• Development of software and product test procedures.
• Investigate product problems, with emphasis on software/firmware product support.
• Participate in appropriate support programs to assure that products continue to fill the customer's needs.
• Stay abreast of new test technology developments and applications that can be used in products through participation in technology seminars, courses, and independent study.
• Must complete design and implementation documentation as specified by the Common Development Processes, and associated with the functional process requirements.
• Must keep a notebook of documented notes that thoroughly explains conceptual thoughts, conditions, restrictions, analysis, synthesis, and test results that serve as justification for test and system design.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering, with concentration in software; or equivalent knowledge in the areas of software engineering (software requirements analysis, software design, software testing).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Software Testing, Software Development, Applications Engineering work, Technical Support, or other Testing/Quality Assurance role.
• Knowledge of software test methodologies required.
• Familiar with the development of test automation solutions.
