Business Intelligence Project Manager

Role Summary/Purpose:

  • The BI Project Manager will own a project portfolio implementing ICS BI strategy by focusing on providing consistent, timely, and actionable metrics across global business functions. This position will also be responsible for managing multiple phases of the BI technology lifecycle.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Own multiple projects implementing ICS BI strategy by focusing on providing consistent, timely, and actionable key performance indicators (KPIs) across global business functions
  • Manage multiple phases of the BI technology lifecycle
  • Operate with a cross-functional team of global IT professionals and subject matter experts in a matrix environment to establish complete business and functional requirements and to translate those requirements into actionable project initiatives in accordance with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Partner with functional peers (CFO, regional leaders, Supply Chain Managers, Project Management, and Customer Service) and IT peers (BI CoE, ERP team, operations, and infrastructure) to establish delivery commitments, including scope, cost, and schedule
  • Use multiple internal and external service providers with GE’s shared service organizations to develop and deliver BI solutions globally
  • Responsible for managing scope, budget, and schedule with timely progress, risk, issue, resolution reporting
  • Ensure projects are executed within GE Infrastructure’s Project Management Methodology with process excellence, compliance, measurement, improvement, and control
  • Be accountable for operational activities such as performance and availability, change management, enhancement management, on-going support, and root cause analysis 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Engineering Discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of enterprise IT experience with a focus on business analysis and project management roles
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience implementing and supporting BI technologies / tools such as Cognos, Hyperion, and Oracle BI Enterprise

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 5% of the time

Desired Characteristics

  • ERP experience (Oracle 11i preferred)
  • Master's in Computer Science, Engineering or other Engineering Discipline
  • Experience with Primavera P6 Analytics
  • Excellent client management, negotiation, and business leadership communication skills
  • Global / International experience
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Experience with SDLC and application support models
  • Experience with ETL, primarily Informatica toolset
  • Strong knowledge in Data Warehousing concepts
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making ability
  • Ability to operate in a fast paced global environment with urgency, ownership, and accountability
  • Green Belt certified (GE employees only)
  • Experience with ETL, primarily Informatica and Noetix (formerly known as Jaros) toolset
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making ability
