International firm of Consulting Engineers is looking to appoint a IWWMP Specialist in their Johannesburg office.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum degree in one of the following disciplines:
  • Environmental Engineering / Chemistry / Geology / Ecology or Hydrogeology.
  • 8 - 15 years experience in Water Resource Management, Engineering, Waste Management, Regulatory and environmental management.
  • Knowledge of legislation with regards to water and waste management.
  • Liaison with regulatory authorities.

Job Specification

International firm of Consulting Engineers is looking to appoint a IWWMP Specialist in their Johannesburg office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Compilation of Integrated Water Use Licence applications to obtain water use authorisation from the Department of Water Affairs.
  • On-site assessments to identify water uses and matters of concern related to storm water management, groundwater, process water management and waste management.
  • Technical evaluation of a wide range of scientific information and specialist reports and interpretation of results of studies in order to formulate on-site water and waste management measures.
  • Formulation of strategies and objectives for Integrated Waste and Water Plans, and practical water and waste management measures and action plans for mines and industry.
  • Liaison with regulatory authorities i.e. government departments, regarding environmental (water use) authorisations.
  • On-going client liaison.
  • Arranging and facilitating meetings and workshops.
  • Presentations during public consultation meetings.
  • Drafting of proposals and reports.
  • Project management, which includes technical integration of the multi-disciplinary teams of specialists which are required to compile Integrated Waste and Water Management Plans for mines and industries.
