Our client is a long established operator in the mining sector.
Vacancies have arisen for 3 Welders with experience of working with Mobile Plant equipment (CAT, Komatsu, Terex).
Main duties & Responsibilities
• Knowledge of welding procedures to ensure that they meet standards and/or specification.
• Operate all equipment associated with the fabrication and repair of metal structures.
• Reinstall repaired or replacement parts for subsequent riveting or welding.
• Repair or fabricate defective sections or parts as required/instructed.
• Must be able to perform/assist with the intermediate/heavy maintenance tasks under all site conditions.
• Must have knowledge of mobile plant including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance.
• To work in a team or unsupervised as and when instructed by your immediate supervisor.
Experience/Qualifications
Must Have
• 3-5 years experience of working with mobile plant equipment (CAT, Komatsu, Terex)
• Experience of safely using stick welding equipment
• Experience of safely using MIG & TIG welding equipment
• Understanding the differentials in technique required for positional welding of various joints.
• Identifying weld faults and corrective action by using destructive and non destructive testing.
• Be able to work at height.
• Full UK driving licence
Desirable
• 3-5 years experience of working with operational plant equipment on a surface mine (CAT, Komatsu, Terex)
• Experience of safely assembling and setting MIG & TIG welding equipment
• City and Guilds in welding and fabrication
• NVQ in welding and fabrication
• ASME Coded
• Hours of work are: Mon - Thurs : 07.30 to 15.30, and Frid : 07.00 to 14.30
• Overtime available making weekly shifts up to 12 hours plus weekend work availability.
