A leading international consultancy based in Cardiff are looking for a Senior Metallurgist/Process Engineer to join its expanding Mining Department.
This role will primarily be based out of the Cardiff office, but will involve frequent travel overseas.
Previous experience in the mining sector, ideally in an international project is essential for this role.
As a Senior Metallurgist/Process Engineer the primary role is to provide competent consulting services to support projects and clients.
The role involves:
• strengthening our capability in the field of hydrometallurgy, particularly for base metals and uranium
• undertaking plant optimization, mineral processing & hydrometallurgy studies
• providing process support to other engineering disciplines
• undertaking process development and design studies for a range of commodities
• undertaking technical due diligence/ competent persons reports
• undertaking audits of various operations
• process improvement and economic analysis
• liaising with clients , other consultants and external laboratories
Essential Requirements:
• Degree or equivalent in Process Metallurgy, Mineral Processing or Chemical Engineering from a recognised institution;
• Chartered Engineer Status and a member of appropriate professional institute
• Operational and technical knowledge of hydrometallurgical processes especially leaching, heap leaching, SX/EW, as well as general experience in mineral processing operations, flow-sheet development, laboratory and pilot scale testwork and design
• Understanding international environmental and social practices
• Business Development Skills
Desirable: Proficient in using and applying specialist software such as LIMN, HSC Chemistry and MetSim.
