Project Service Technician

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Project Service Technician will primarily be responsible for championing the growth and development of Nalco's offerings and providing hands on services to current and new Nalco customers in the service geography. The Project Service Technician will safely complete, coordinate, and direct work related to Nalco Services projects. Oversees and completes the daily activities and workflow for the fulfillment of tasks and responsibilities of varied projects.
  • May be supervising one to two people in support of job activities. This position is full-time and reports to a Regional Service Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understands and adheres to Nalco safety guidelines focusing on and consistently practicing safety as a top priority for all projects completed
  • Lead a Tailgate talk - demonstrates a lead by example process in safety compliance
  • Ensures the team utilizes all appropriate safety equipment and procedures
  • Start up and trouble shoot water treatment process and control systems
  • Supervises the technical and manpower needs of the project including contractors and Nalco personnel and notifies the Supervisor/Manager when there are additional needs
  • Daily activities may include installation of electrical, instrumentation, or piping systems inclusive of but not limited to Nalco proprietary equipment
  • Regularly completes all written permits based on Nalco and customer requirements (such as Confined space, electrical permits, etc.)
  • Completes and obtains a customer signature on Commissioning Documents or Service Reports for every job
  • Must understand fluid concepts, instrumentation, electromechanical and programmable control systems
  • Assists with on-site customer training
  • Participates in local district meetings, regional meetings and seminars

Qualifications

  • H.S. diploma or Trade school certification
  • Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Training Certification from the military or recognized trade school or college
  • Mechanical, Installation, electrical, and plumbing skills are required
  • 3 - 4 years of experience within water treatment industry, HVAC, or equivalent
  • Water pretreatment experience
  • Experience working with and maintaining reverse osmosis systems
  • Experience working with softeners and sand filters
  • Availability to travel up to 60% of the time
  • Solid computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently and successfully without regular supervision
  • Be responsible and operate the Service Center according to the Nalco Standard
  • Be willing to learn, and take pride in what you do
  • Ability to professionally communicate with our customers, sales representatives and corporate staff by phone, eMail, and in person
