This Listed Mining Company has several successful operations in the North Queensland region and is going through an exciting period of development. 
 
A new role has been created for a Regional Project Accountant who will assist the Regional General Manager on all financial matters and be responsible for analysing and reporting on the financial performance of the local operations. 
 
You will have ideally worked in Project/ Management Accounting position previously with a mining or large heavy industrial company. You will be competent in month end procedures and reporting, budgeting, forecasting, ad hoc analysis and providing input for financial modelling. We are looking for a good communicator who can build rapport with site staff, whilst responding in a timely and accurate fashion to head office. You will have worked with a large accounting package and have advanced Excel skills. Additionally, you will be proactive in seeking out opportunities to improve processes and procedures relevant to the accounting function.
 
This position will suit an Accountant who is willing to work and live away from home during the week. A competitive salary is on offer for the successful candidate.
