Cost Engineer

This leading West Australian focused mining group is embarking on the next stage to make the dream a reality. With a world class Iron Ore deposit and the financial backing to make it happen, they are rapidly expanding their project team to ensure the engineering excellence through the development and construction phase.
 
Working closely with the project management team, the Cost Engineer will have responsibility of developing the project budget.

This will include:
  • Coordination of cost estimates and budgets for individual parcels of work
  • Liaise with  the EPCM to ensure all project variances are reported and accurately costed
  • Develop reporting framework to provide a detailed overview of progress, budget variances
  • Review of the performance of PCM and third party engineering contractors
To be successful in this role you will ideally have a minimum of 5 years cost control and estimation experience within the mining sector, preferably construction. You will be able to work independently and have the abilities to influence the direct of the project through effective communication to the project management team.
