Overseer Laboratory

A leading Mining company is seeking the services of a Laboratory Overseer. The position carries a legal responsibility

Key performance areas:

• Responsible for the sampling and preparation systems, Robolab, AR-labs XRF9800 machine and AR-labs XRF9800 PLUS machine.
• Implementation of company QA standards and preparation of documentation to obtain ISO 17025 accreditation.
• Perform wet chemical analysis, ad hoc water analysis as well as ad hoc screen analysis.
• Verification of sampling systems and preparation as well as calibration of On-line Iron scans and management of metallurgical laboratory will form part of your responsibilities.
• Internal quality control, conduct investigations in order to improve performance of Laboratory equipment and advise plant management with regard to product quality related problems.
• Coordinate small projects with regard to quality processes, technology and equipment.
• Coach technicians-in-training and conduct technical development.

Minimum requirements:

• National Diploma or Degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering
• 5 years laboratory experience
• 3 years management experience
• Experience in Robot Labs (IMP system) and XFR analyzers.
