The Design Group Mining Division in conjunction with our client, a leading global mining organization, is actively seeking a Mine Technician.

Their philosophy is to promote within to create staff retention. Working for this global player will allow you to advance your career here in Canada or one of their global operations. 

Reporting to the Senior Engineer, the Mine Technician will be responsible for providing technical support to mine operations in an active pit. 

The role will focus on the surveying aspect of an operating pit, drilling and blasting, drill pattern design and loading instructions. Surveying duties include month end survey reconciliation, pit topographic updates drawings and map generation.

This position will work closely with other members of the engineering and operations department to gain an understanding of the mining process in an active pit.

Key Qualifications:

  • Mining Technician or Mining Technologist Diploma
  • Minimum 1 year in mining environment
  • Recent working experience in similar roles within the mining industry
  • Ability to complete work in a timely manner with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Mine Modeling Software, such as AutoCAD, and Minescape
  • Knowledge of surveying and ability to use survey instruments
