SNC-Lavalin’s Chemicals and Petroleum office in Calgary, Alberta provides a comprehensive range of engineering, procurement and construction services in oil sands mining, extraction & bitumen production, gas processing, petroleum refining and petrochemicals, and pipelines for the Canadian market and markets around the world.
We are seeking a Senior Cost Controller(s) to join our Project Controls team.
The successful candidate will report to the Manager, Project Controls in the Calgary, Alberta, Canada office.

Cost Controller will be engaged in organizing and planning activities of established procedures and practices to provide the best cost control services to projects.
This role will be accountable for the following areas:
- Ensuring the application of the accounting/cost control methods and procedures and their adaptation to suite the philosophy, strategy and conditions of specific projects and proposals;
- Ensuring the development of statistical data banks;
- Auditing and reviewing divisional cost control work and participating in the development of computer applications;
- Auditing and reviewing divisional cost control work and participating in the development of computer applications;
- Making divisions on all matters related to the function including the establishment of policies and expenditures of large sums of money;
Experience/Skills/Qualification
- A minimum of 10 to 15 years cost control experience that includes the cost control management of lump sum and or reimbursable projects related to significant ($200 million and higher) EPC/EPCM Petro-Chemical Projects.
- University degree or Diploma in Engineering or related field is preferred, with experience in construction, estimating and cost control
- Supervisory experience;
- Significant knowledge of all project management functions, contract discipline and administration, procurement, materials control, economics, accounting, labour laws, contract and legal matters;
- Capacity to determine program objectives and requirements and to develop standards and guides for diverse technical or administrative activities.
- A distinct results orientation combined with outstanding communication, interpersonal and team building skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
