Mine Geologist Manager, Underground Copper Mining

Contract Fly-in-Fly-out position in the mining sector in a safe area of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Single status position (not favourable for wives and families to reside there) with a six day working week. Reports to the Mine Technical Services Manager.

PLEASE NOTE: Regrettably, we are unable to consider candidates who do not have prior mining industry experience. (This is a crucial requirement and not negotiable).

Key Technical Skills Required:

  • Geologist graduated with minimum 10 years experience in mining and exploration in UG and open pit.
  • The geologist will take ownership and responsibility of Management of Diamond drill exploration, scheduling, logging, sampling, QA/QC, Modeling and resources evaluation.
  • Also geological UG/Surface mapping and interpretation.
  • Modeling and resources evaluation as per JORC 2004 guidelines.
  • To implement reconciliation process

Key Competencies Required:

  • Technical knowledge in mining software Datamine, Gemcom-Surpac, Fusion Database and AutoCAD 2010
  • Execution of all mining activities.
  • Ability to design, organize and implement Diamond drill and RC percussion programs.
  • Leadership and ability to teach national staff
  • Available for working in UG and Open Pit environment.
  • English Speaker and French (no indispensable)

Remuneration And Benefits:

  • Salary up to $154,000 pa (tax free plus benefits), depending on skills and experience
