Vendor Operations Superintendent

Job Details

• The position is based near Machadodorp, Mpumalanga
• Overall responsible for daily management of the site reagent plants,
• Ensure all the contractual obligations (operations KPIs ) are met and maintained at all times,

Ensure

• Ensure the efficient running of the reagents make-up and dosing plants at all times,
• Maintain a high plant availability by managing first line and planned maintenance effectively,
• Ensure daily and monthly reports on the operations of the reagent plants are generated on time,
• Ensure efficient inventory management to maintain the required stock levels of reagents at all times,
• People management- including industrial relations, performance management and training and development of plant operators,
• Able to conduct basic metallurgical test work to assist in optimisation of the reagent plant when required,
• Attend all relevant site meetings including production, health and safety, technical and plant shutdowns,
• Ensure compliance to the site health, safety and environmental requirements at all times,
• Ensure high levels of housekeeping are maintained at all times,
• Ensure good customer relations by maintaining high levels of communication and visibility at all times,
• Identification and implementation of site personnel training requirements,
• Able to work long hours and do standby when required.

Inherent Requirements:

• A National Diploma in Chemical Engineering or Extractive Metallurgy is essential
• At least 5 years experience in Chemical or Metallurgical Environments and 2 years should be in a supervisory level,
• Previous experience in vendor managed reagent operations will be advantageous
• A high energy level person with the ability to thrive under highly pressurized environments,
• A highly assertive and independent person with attention to detail,
• Good interpersonal and communication skills,
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft office
