Lead Process Engineer
Description:
Our Mississauga, Ontario client is seeking a Lead Process Engineer. This is a hands-on full-time permanent position within their mineral processing division. Reporting to the Principal Process Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to participate in process engineering related projects while promoting the company’s strong reputation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting process designs (studies and EPCM).
- Conduct and manage studies relating to scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility.
- Manage metallurgical test work programs.
- Manage commissioning activities as required.
- Participate in the selection of mineral processing plant equipment (i.e. crushers, grinding mills, agitators, screens, cyclones, flotation cells, blowers, etc.).
- Review process engineering design criteria and specifications, ensuring practical engineering solutions are implemented that comply with project and client requirements.
- Provide support for and assist with the solicitation of new business as required.
- Prepare study documents and reports as required.
Qualifications:
- University degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- 10+ years of post graduate practical and related work experience.
- Experience with front end design, detailed engineering including process simulation, Piping and Instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), development and safety reviews.
- Strong base mineral processing background, preferable with Gold projects.
- Experience in any of Copper, Zinc, Lead, Nickel, Iron Ore, Coal, Potash, Cement or Bauxite processing plant projects is desirable.
- Experience evaluating work practices, implement systems and suggest improvements or refinements where possible.
- Strong communication (verbal, written and presentation) skills.
- Excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail and able to work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong work ethic, able to work with minimal supervision on multiple concurrent tasks and able to self prioritize.
