Occupational Health Practitioner

A large mining company in the Northern Cape is seeking the services of an Occupational Health Practitioner for a fixed term period of 1 year.

The role:

• The role involves a full range of occupational nursing duties:
• Coordinating and managing Occupational Health Programmes in responsible section and lung function and audiometric testing.
• Medical examination of workers and certifying the employees fit for duty as well as workplace inspections and report writing.
• You will be required to attend Occupational Health and Safety meetings and update data on relevant programs.
• Training of employees on Occupational Health issues and dispensing.

Minimum requirements:

• Relevant post Grade 12 qualification in Occupational Health and Primary Heath Care
• EAP, counselling and Primary Health Care experience.
• Dispensing License
• Certificate in Industrial Audiometry
• Certificate in Spirometry (accredited with SASOHN)
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council
• Personal indemnity (Denosa, Hospersa, SASOHN etc.).
• Valid driver's license

Additional requirements:

• Ability to read and write English and Afrikaans
• Good interpersonal relations
• Ability to operate under stress
• You must be willing to work shifts and will be required to pass a medical fitness certificate in order to be considered for this position.
