MARC Accountant (Maintenance & Repairs Contracts)

To provide full support to the operations department and ensure that transactions are processed accurately, timeously and adhering to internal controls of the contracts within the mining division.

Ensure compliance with MARC and service contracts

Minimum Requirements

• 2-3 years finance and accounting experience
• SAIPA / SAICA articles advantageous
• Minimum of 2-3 years in similar industry
• B. Com or Diploma
• Strong financial understanding
• Advanced excel skills is a requirement – this will be tested during interviews
• Autoline experience advantageous

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly reconciliations of the MARC accrual accounts
• Attending all monthly and quarterly meetings with Key Account Managers
• Monthly meetings with the warranty manager to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Preparation of all financial reports for all monthly and quarterly meetings
• Monthly meetings with the FC and the Mines to agree on costs on the MARC, costs to be billed to the mine and costs to be absorbed by EMS outside the MARC
• Review of WIP before they are closed onto the MARC’s
• Monthly trips to mining sites
• Initiate and review monthly invoicing for SA mining sites
• Preparing calculations for rate adjustments for all SA mining sites support contracts
• Preparing invoices for excessive tramming, usage etc as stipulated in the contract
• Ensuring that we follow the contracts to the letter and that we don’t breach any financial or other contractually bound items in the MARC.
• SA  mining sites WIP reviews as well as debtors reviews and follow ups
• Assist operations staff with all financial queries
• Assist the training department with all financial queries and issues. 
• Ensure all training is accurately billed to customers
• Ensure all activities of the field service team are quoted and invoiced upon completion
• Assist all site personnel with any financial queries they might have
