Construction Manager
Job Description:
- Site Superintendent
- The position requires supervision and oversight of material handling equipment associated with mining, crushing and ore processing facilities for the clients mining site in Western Australia. This position requires a background in build outs of large industrial equipment. Ideal industrial backgrounds would be construction within pipelines, cement , processing or mining plants.
- Will oversee the installation crews of different cultures and nationalities of a construction subcontractor. Must be able to identify, solve and manage typical field construction problems that may arise with minimum input from the home office.
- Must be able to travel to many locations throughout the world, and remain in these locations for extended periods at times. This particular position will be located in Australia for a period of a year.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
- Has completed successfully multimillion dollar projects.
- Must have 5 - 10 years industrial construction related experience.
- Impeccable safety record
- Have complete some OSHA or MSHA training
- A minimum of a Mechanical Engineering Technologist Diploma OR High School Diploma with a Journeyman Certifications (or equivalent)
- A degree in construction engineering management, building studies, building engineering and building technology a plus.
- A degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering is definitely a plus
- Experience in mining, ore processing, and materials handling preferred
- Confident in abilities with proven track record
- Must be good problem solvers and possess excellent interpersonal skills as well as be able to manage staff and subcontractors.
- Must be good at logistics, planning and problem-solving.
- Ability to cover very diverse subjects from construction design and technology to building materials
- Good man-management skills with the ability to motivate sub-contract labor
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems and troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, welding, industrial mechanical equipment is important.
