Applications Specialist

My client a leading developer of high powered microscopy technology is currently seeking an Applications Specialist to join their expanding sales department.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a customer facing role/ field sales role, but will also have enough experience of performing sample analysis using high powered microscopes to be able to perform accurate analysis of customer samples and give product demonstrations to clients from the geology, and oil and gas industries.

Key Responsibilities

-Performing accurate analysis of customer samples using high powered microscopes and presentation of the results to the customers.
-High level of technical knowledge of the companys products and the ability to be able to demonstrate the products use to prospective visiting clients.
-Generation of application notes and product power points to support marketing literature.
-Attending meetings and trade shows to keep up to date with market trends and potential competition and customers.
-Some overseas travel to provide product training to clients.

In summary the successful candidate will have industry experience of the above responsibilities as well as coming from a relevant role, preferably in the geology or oil and gas industry and also either have experience in a customer facing/field sales role or be comfortable performing such a position.
