Mine Cost Accountant

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Mine Cost Accountant to join our Woodie operations in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Operating on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth and reporting to the Manager -– Site Cost Accounting, your main responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Preparation of the site monthly financialsmanagement and performance report Providing analysis of cost trends and budget variances to activity owners Day to day assisting of the Site finance function in relation to statutory reporting and audits Meeting the operation’s end of month reporting timetable Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations Review and analysis of operational costs to ensure accuracy Maintain the capital expenditure tracking system Perform adhoc analysis for various business scenarios or trend analysis when required Liaison with operational managers to effectively communicate cost and budgeting requirements To be successful in this position, it is essential that you possess the following qualifications, skills and experience: Bachelor of Commerce Commencement of your CPA/CA Qualification will be highly regarded Relevant post graduate experience in a Mine Accountant role Strong Excel skills Strong reconciliation skills and the ability to meet set deadlines Pronto experience will be looked upon favourably  Together with the above requirements you will have the ability to multi-task, be able to demonstrate initiative and have the ability to problem solve and be a quick thinker under pressure.  Exceptional communication skills, interpersonal skills and a customer focused attitude are essential in order to achieve positive outcomes.
