Senior Tax Analyst

Job Description

  • Our corporate tax department Menomonee Falls, WI is adding a Senior Tax Analyst to their team.  Reporting to the Domestic Tax Leader, this position is responsible for preparation and review of corporate tax compliance functions including federal, state, and local tax audits and quarterly and yearly provisions.  In addition, this individual will assist in strategic planning, research, executive management reporting, acquisition and divestiture due diligence reviews, and other special projects as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with financial management and staff involved in tax related matters.
  • Assists in the review and consolidation of periodic income tax provisions of each subsidiary to assure accuracy and compliance with established accounting principles and procedures.
  • Prepares financial analyses of related tax matters as required.
  • Preparation and review of income tax compliance functions including: federal consolidated income tax return, state and local income/franchise tax returns, and estimated income tax payments.
  • Prepares for financial audits as required by corporate policy, governmental regulations and/or organizations.  Assists the finance department in financial audit responsibilities as required.
  • Prepares for federal income tax, state and local income/franchise tax.
  • Responds to federal income tax, state and local income/franchise tax, sales and use tax, and excise tax notices and/or inquires as required.
  • Research and draft technical memoranda on various tax issues as required.
  • Assists in corporate acquisition and divestiture due diligence reviews as it relates to tax matters.
  • Assists in the preparation and analysis of the budgeting process as it relates to tax matters.
  • Assists in strategic tax planning an implementation processes.
  • Assists with planning and implementing changes in the tax and financial accounting systems.
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and training relative to corporate tax policy and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Capabilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting.
  • 4 to 6 years tax experience in manufacturing or public accounting; or any combination of experience, education, and training which would provide the level of knowledge, skill, and ability required.
  • A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is desirable.
  • Technical knowledge of corporate tax provisions, federal income tax, multi-state and local income/franchise tax, and other statutory authority.
  • Knowledge and experience with standard office software such as: Microsoft Office, enterprise software such as Hyperion, and either RIA (Research Institute of America) or CCH online tax research software. Ability to design efficient and effective spreadsheets as well as utilize current technology communications software.  Experience with CORPTax software is a plus.
  • Possess high ethical standards and integrity, as well as maintain good working relationships with all employees, management, and executives.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, management, and executives.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
