Job Description

  • Our [Company] business in Columbus, WI is adding a Field Support Technician to their team.  Reporting to the Engineering & Operations Leader, this position significantly contributes to training, service and support of Integrated Solutions systems primarily on customer job sites, but also in the office via telephone and during assembly and testing of systems.
  • [Company] IS Americas is a key strategic initiative for [Company] and provides customized value-added solutions to customers in heavy lifting, mining, infrastructure and many other markets.
  • Perform internal assembly, testing prior to shipment to ensure proper function and customer satisfaction.
  • Create customer documentation (operation manual, pictures, drawings, etc..), which will be stored in the project files upon for use in future service and support.
  • Provide telephone service and support, including coordination of repair work at Columbus facility as needed.
  • Provide on site customer training on purchased equipment as well as general safety and product training.
  • Ensure customer equipment is used in a safe and efficient manner, avoiding undue liability to the organization.
  • Perform troubleshooting in a logical and methodical manner, to get customer operating in the shortest time possible.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 year degree in technical program, preferably with focus on either hydraulics or electronics; or equivalent field experience in related role.
  • Ability to travel 75% of time, often with minimal notice, to foreign countries in North and South America.
  • Spanish language skills would be beneficial.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications in order to prepare customer training materials as needed.
  • Ability to think independently and provide unique solutions to unforeseen problems.
