A progressive mining company currently seek an experienced HSE Manager to lead the department of Health, Safety and Environmental.  Reporting to the General Manger, you will provide functional and strategic Health and Safety advice and guidance. You will coach and mentor a dedicated team in all aspects of Health and Safety. 


Your main accountabilities will include:
• Overseeing and auditing of safety practices and processes on site;
• Development of intelligent and business related systems;
• Management of incident reporting and remedial action follow-up;
• Overseeing emergency services and site medical requirements;
• Provide sound advice and planning within the site management team;
• Providing leadership and direction to a dynamic and driven team; and
• Communicating and liaising with relevant statutory groups ensuring alignment with the Project Management Plan.


Ideally, you will possess the following:
• Qualifications in Health and Safety or relevant experience in field and industry;
• Minimum 3 years previous experience in a similar role
• Minimum 5 years experience in mining sector 
• An ability to participate and lead risk assessment;
• Ability to positively influence work groups and build practices that are accepted;
• Proven management and leadership skills;
• Ability to assess and develop systems to suit the site's needs; and
You will have excellent written and interpersonal communication skills with a positive, proactive and efficient approach to performance management, business and technical problem solving; as well as a can-do attitude and proven track record in achieving results on-time and within budget.
