Civil Engineer - Mining Infrastructure and Waste

This is a senior level position in the consulting team and is regarded as a professional person in the delivery of geotechnical services, inline with the Company suite of engineering products.

Qualifications:

• Degree in the Civil Engineering
• Professional Register at ECSA (Min 4 years)
• 8 - 15 Years experience post graduation
• Legislation related to Engineering / Environment
• Financial Knowledge
• Engineering design experience at a consulting firm
• Exposure to mining and industrial projects
• Experience in disposal of mining and industrial waste
• Project Management Skills

• Lead design engineer on services and projects in the mining and industrial applications
• Build reputation as Technical Leader/Lead Consultant
• Provide technical advice and consultancy on complex design issues to clients (internal & external)

• Negotiate and review routine project contracts
• Use advanced techniques, modifications and practices to synthesise designs for decision making / recommendations
• Keep abreast of advancing technologies, methods and research & development
• Participate in training activities, mentoring and transferring knowledge to junior design engineers.
• Plan, develop schedules, coordinate and direct manpower on important engineering projects to meet completion deadlines.
• Supervise, coordinate and review / evaluate activities carried out by junior engineers
• Technical review and sign-off of design drawings and reports for clients
• Provide safety leadership in identifying and alleviating/ eliminating high priority safety hazards
• OH&S incident reporting
• Other duties as required
