Mobile Equipment Maintenance Superintendent | Open Pit Mine

An opportunity exists for an experienced Mobile Equipment Superintendent to take charge of the Mobile section of an open pit mine in French speaking Africa.

Opportunity

We require an experienced Mobile Equipment Superintendent with at least 15 years experience in a heavy earthmoving equipment environment.

Role

• Maintain safety, housekeeping and environmental standards relative to the mobile equipment and workshop.
• Achieve machine availability targets as set by the Engineering Manager.
• Work with the Procurement and Warehouse | Logistics departments to ensure the availability of the necessary spare parts.
• Implement and control a critical component change out program.
• Train the national staff.

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

• At least 15 years experience in a heavy earthmoving equipment environment, preferably gained in the open pit mining sector.
• Good computer literacy: MS Office and Outlook.
• The ability to work on a remote mine site and on a FIFO rotation.
• Previous expatriate experience is preferred.
• Good communication skills and good track record of working with national staff.
• French or Swahili language skills would be an added advantage.
• The ability to compile annual operating and capital budgets.
