Sales Engineer-Wastewater Systems

Job Description:

  • [Company] has an immediate need for a Sales Engineer with a food and beverage wastewater systems background for a company in the Austin area. This is a permanent position and their will be a base salary plus bonuses based on the gross profit margin. There will be 50% U.S. travel but this person will be based in their Austin location. This company will provide relocation assistance if needed.

Summary:

  • Responsible for a variety of duties related to selling and designing industrial wastewater treatment systems. He/she would be responsible for direct client contact, support of sales representatives, proposal and bid development (including process design of industrial treatment systems, development of process flow diagrams, coordinating with project operations and execution, and technical writing), attendance at trade shows and technical seminars on wastewater treatment, reuse, and industrial topics, and responding to general client inquiries for information.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and actively pursue sales opportunities for wastewater projects in the Food and Beverage market
  • Receives initial inquiries from potential clients and/or technical rep and develops an appropriate level of response (in coordination with Director, Sales)
  • Respond to inquiries for general information about company and/or our technologies
  • Develop preliminary proposals in response to inquiries, including overall process selection and design, some detailed design, PFD development, technical writing and pricing (in coordination with other staff).
  • Coordinate/develop firm proposals with support from other staff.
  • Technical presentations to potential clients and/or at trade shows and conferences.
  • Attendance at industry trade shows and interaction with potential new clients
  • Attendance at technical seminars to expand his/her knowledge of industrial wastewater process engineering
  • Assist Director and Sales with various market research and development of marketing plan for company

Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelors degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering
  • 5 years directly related experience in a wastewater treatment processes and technologies engineering firm
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and other MS Office software
  • Good communication and technical writing skills are required
  • Ability to read and interpret basic inquiries and basic industry documents
  • Knowledge of industrial wastewater treatment systems and Food and Beverage market
  • Ability to obtain registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas or other State
  • Ability to interact face to face with potential clients in a competent manner is essential
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints
  • Ability to understand and both read, write and converse in English at advanced level

Required Skills:

  • Heavy Chemical Process Background
  • 5+ Years of Experience In The Food & Beverage Industry
  • 5+ Years of Technical Sales Experience With Wastewater Systems
  • 50% U.S. Travel Required
  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree In Civil
  • Environmental
  • Or Chemical Engineering
