Science Coordinator

[Company] coordinates a new large-scale collaborative project under the EU 7th Framework Program, EMBRACE: Earth System Model Bias Reduction and Assessing Abrupt Climate Change. EMBRACE involves 20 institutes from 10 countries and aims to improve the description of key physical and biogeochemical processes in 5 leading European Earth System Models.

We seek a project coordinator for EMBRACE. Such a person will be responsible for the day to day coordination of the project, under the direction of the project leader.

Responsibilities will include: construction and maintenance of the EMBRACE website, dissemination of EMBRACE science activities through a range of media channels, collation and submission of project reports and deliverables to the EU, organization of project workshops and conferences, as well as regular interaction with[Company] , who are responsible for all financial aspects of the project.

[Company] is also engaged in a range of other EU projects, with partner status. The applicant will also take responsibility for coordinating these EU projects within the group, assisting [Company] staff in the preparation of reports and deliverables to the EU, in dissemination activities pertinent to each project and generally ensuring smooth running of these projects.

We seek a dynamic, outgoing person with excellent organizational and communication skills. You will have a Masters degree or higher in a relevant scientific field, such as Environmental, Climate or Biological Sciences, with an excellent ability to communicate complex scientific findings to a range of audiences, from European and National politicians, to scientists in parallel disciplines, the media and the general public. Prior experience in science communication and/or the coordination of large projects would be an advantage, likewise, experience in developing and maintaining project web pages. Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Swedish would be an advantage.
