Laboratory Manager

Region: Midlands

My client, an established environmental laboratory operating throughout the UK and Europe, is looking to expand the team in the East Midlands with a Laboratory Manager. My client provides services to markets including construction, waste and environment.

The ideal Laboratory manager will have a degree in Microbiology or a related discipline, along with at least 5 years of practical laboratory experience as a line manager. You will have previously used a variety of complex laboratory equipment and processes, being able to demonstrate a good knowledge of specialist tests and method development. You will be computer literate and be familiar with LIMS and ELISA techniques.

The Laboratory Manager role will involve managing a team of up to 30 laboratory staff ensuring that analytical procedures are carried out on time and in accordance with written instructions. You will help provide technical support, ensuring that problems are prevented with clients, with regards to communication and delivering results.
