Principal Exploration Geologist - Gold

Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity to join a first mover's professional mine development team as they prepare to build a gold mine in Central Africa.  The successful candidate must be an experienced senior geologist and will be mainly responsible for the ongoing exploration program on a number of nearby licenses.

Principal Exploration Geologist Role

• Analyze and interpret exploration results to generate new targets and ensure a well-planned and efficient field exploration program
• Establishing and maintaining procedures related to exploration and drilling programs.
• Demonstrate leadership and management skills and be able to supervise and mentor National Geologists
• Ensure periodic reporting commitments are met
• Willing to operate on occasion from remote fly-in camps

Principal Exploration Geologist Experience and Skill Set Requirements

• Degree in Geology and with +8 years industry experience
• Significant experience in supervising diamond and reverse circulation drilling programs including logging and sampling  
  Bilingual French / English, must be able to adequately communicate verbally in the second language
• Prior experience in Achaean greenstone gold environment in tropical regions desirable
• Good understanding of structural geology
• Previous experience in mining or late-stage exploration projects an advantage
• Familiarity with MapInfo, Micromine and similar software an advantage
• Able to work comfortably in a multi-cultural environment

The position is single status, based in a well equipped exploration camp with a FIFO work roster from home base (8 weeks on and alternating 2/3 weeks off). The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary commensurate with their experience and qualifications.
