My client is one of the largest privately owned engineering consultancies in the UK. They have an excellent reputation with nearly 500 staff across 16 offices. Over the last few years they have experienced extensive growth within the group and are now looking for a talented Geotechnical Associate & Business Leader to form a new team in their Central London office.
Role:
A unique opportunity exists in central London for a highly qualified geotechnical engineer & manager to join a well known UK consultancy to aid the set up of their London geotechnical team with the existing Technical Director. Their core business in London at present is Civil Structural engineering and they now want to expand further into the Geotechnical market. The group has existing geotechnical projects around the UK which would need to be managed but this role would enable you to create new opportunities for the business and help to create a new team of engineers around you.
Requirements:
To qualify for this position, my client is looking for:
• A B.Eng/M.Eng in Civil Engineering or a BSc in Geology supplemented with an MSc in Engineering Geology/Geotechnical Engineering
• Around 9-10 years minimum post degree geotechnical experience.
• UK chartership is essential. E.g C.Eng/CGeol
• Excellent and up-to-date knowledge of the UK (specifically London) geotechnical market.
• A highly technical engineer with excellent design capabilities.
• Excellent knowledge of other related disciplines e.g. Geoenvironmental/Geology
• A business leader & commercially astute engineer - excellent client facing skills are essential - must be able to key sell other areas of the business outside of your own discipline.
• A team leader - extensive experience of leading and managing groups of teams.

It would ideally suit a Principal Engineer looking for a new challenge in their career or an Associate looking for more responsibility.
