Are you our next Senior Director, Business Development?
- We are currently seeking a Senior Director, Business Development for our Plymouth, MN location. The Senior Director, Business Development will identify, investigate, develop, and evaluate new business development opportunities and alliances that promote the organization’s strategic priorities. Responsibilities will include evaluating merger and acquisition opportunities, evaluating internal growth opportunities and implementing business strategy. The Senior Director, Business Development is expected to work collaboratively with Mosaic’s business units and various corporate functions and will effectively lead project teams.
What will you do?
- Identify and analyze business opportunities and recommend actions to be taken, which can include internal opportunities, such as new products or services, and external opportunities such as mergers, acquisitions, divestiture, and joint ventures. Interface with bankers, review proposals, screen business opportunities, and work with business unit management and engineering to define opportunities. Perform financial analysis to evaluate opportunities. Prepare acquisition proposals, lead M&A activities and other strategic business development projects.
- Maintain a broad network of industry and Wall Street contacts. Provide analysis of financial and operating reports for Mosaic and key competitors. Review industry association statistics and industry publications. Participate in relative performance evaluations of Mosaic vs. competitors.
- Lead the development of a business strategy that will ensure continued successful growth and profitability for Mosaic. Serve as a consultant to functions/departments (sales, marketing, etc.) to provide guidance and counsel on strategy development.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
What do you need for this role?
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master of Business Administration preferred.
- 12+years of experience in business development and strategic planning.
- Previous experience analyzing the financial aspects of multi-hundred million dollar merger, acquisitions and joint ventures.
- Business development OR investment banking experience a must.
- Previous experience as a multi-functional project team leader with the proven ability to drive projects to closure.
- Previous experience in a global enterprise and with cross-border transactions.
- Excellent financial analysis skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Project.
- Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills, including the ability to effectively present concepts and proposals.
- Proven strategic planning and project leadership capabilities.
- Ability to influence senior executives.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, sometimes for extended periods.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
