Country Manager

Sarama Resources Ltd is a Canadian public company founded in 2010 to focus on the exploration and development of gold deposits in West Africa. With substantial landholdings in prospective and underexplored areas of Burkina Faso, Liberia and Mali, Sarama is well placed to build on its achievements to date.

Due to the growth of the company, a significant opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced Country Manager to be responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s operations in Burkina Faso including local and government relations, exploration activities, administration management, reporting and various corporate requirements.

Being fluent in both French / English you will:

• Oversee the development, implementation and supervision of all exploration activities in Burkina Faso in consultation with the GM West Africa and VP Exploration;
• develop and cultivate strategic relationships, identify exploration opportunities and grow the company’s exploration and development portfolio in Burkina Faso;
• develop and maintain key working relationships (both internally and externally) and manage the necessary HR /labour functions;
• Be responsible for ensuring all administration, company reporting and government compliance is properly undertaken and maintained in a timely and professional manner.

The preferred applicant will be tertiary qualified and have significant gold exploration experience, preferably in a developing country and in Birimian geological settings.  Previous experience working in Africa is desirable, along with exploration experience of gold.
