Senior Hydrogeologist

Klohn Crippen Berger’s Mining Environmental Services Group has an immediate opening for a Senior Hydrogeologist to work on a range of Hydrogeological Numerical Modelling projects in Western Canada.

The successful candidate will join one of Canada’s most dynamic, diverse and respected hydrogeological groups. We are a team of highly motivated and hardworking professionals committed to delivering high quality services. This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Work on some of the largest hydrogeological projects in the world in the Athabasca Oil Sands
  • Work on mining, civil infrastructure, oil and gas, water resources, environmental assessment and remediation projects across western Canada
  • Apply your knowledge and skills in hydrogeology and numerical modelling to solve complex problems and deliver innovative, pragmatic solutions
  • Provide training, leadership and mentoring for junior / intermediate hydrogeologists and modelers
  • Work with multi-disciplinary engineering teams on challenging projects
  • Interact with clients and provide technical support on key projects
  • Be recognized for your input and contributions

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology (M.Sc. an asset)
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in physical hydrogeology and numerical modelling in hard rock mining and / or oil sands mining applications
  • Demonstrated experience with one or more of the following software packages: FEFLOW, Modflow, Hydrogeosphere, SVFlux, PEST
  • Experience in geological modelling using Mincom, Rockworks, Surpac, or Vulcan
  • Strong database and spreadsheet skills
  • Code writing and GIS skills an asset but not a pre-requisite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to team work
  • Willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally
  • Class 5 Drivers license or equivalent
  • Eligible to, or registered as, a P. Geol. in Alberta
