Requirements:
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for the performance of overall site objectives in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost, service, personnel development and retention, and share accountability for financial performance.
  • Chair the plant leadership team in identifying, planning and implementing key initiatives for achieving the operational strategies/goals.
  • Lean Manufacturing champion for the site and is responsible for creating and sustaining a lean culture of continuous improvement.
  • Reviews capital, expenses and material/facility usage to ensure plant operates in a cost effective manner. Provides direction and coordinates the preparation of the plant budget including capital.
  • Analyzes the overall performance of the operation to target though standardized daily, weekly monthly metrics and implement counter measures where appropriate to maximize results.
  • Conducts regular, scheduled reviews with the leadership team to assess progress, identify help required and adjust plans as needed. Sets high expectations for leadership and exhibits a personal example of performance and professionalism plant employees can emulate. 
  • Administers plant policies and ensures consistency with overall corporate policies.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ plus years of manufacturing experience in process improvement and manufacturing operations with at least 5 years of previous plant management experience required
  • BA in Business, Engineering or Operations discipline 
  • Strong bilingual communication skills both written and oral (Spanish)
  • Effective communication and networking skills for dealing with all functions and levels of the organization
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate the organization by creating a clear vision of the future state and the action plans that will move them forward. 
  • Automotive, Aerospace or Electronics background preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Prior experience as a successful plant manager of a manufacturing operation in Mexico. Proven track record of managing a facility with >300 employees and >$100M sales. Prefer Automotive, Aerospace or Electronics industry background
  • Detail-oriented individual with the ability to monitor the daily performance while maintaining broad view of the operational improvement strategy. Individual that is able to instill the rigors of “day by the hour” mentality and countermeasure where appropriate with our shop floor leadership. 
  • Passionate result focused leader with a proven track record of exceeding customer expectations in terms of providing a quality product on time every time.
  • This position requires an individual that enjoys being engaged with the shop floor production teams and is able to balance the administrative duties of this role. 
  • Working knowledge of import / export regulations, Mexican labor law and general operational issues. This position will interface with the shelter service provider.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategies and action plans that are linked to business and organizational objectives with focus of delivering improved results.
  • Proven track record of operational improvements through the implementation of Six Sigma Methodologies, Continuous Improvement initiatives, Lean Manufacturing or other similar programs.
