Job Description:

  • [Company] is currently working with a client looking for a Chemical Operator in Pensacola, FL. The Chemical Operator will be responsible for the operation, inspection, troubleshooting and maintenance of the chemical synthesis unit.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Quality assurance competencies in inspecting both the equipment and media
  • Chemical experience (handling, transferring, running samples)
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and work toward a solution
  • Strong communication skills and computer proficiency
  • Complies with all regulatory safety requirements
  • Complies with all regulatory environmental requirements
  • Complies with all company policies, practices and lawful directives
  • Displays leadership qualities
  • Manages and executes multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently
  • Inspects, adjusts, isolates, monitors, operates and repairs plant equipment and systems
  • Identifies and reports plant conditions as necessary
  • Participates in the planning and implementation of major maintenance activities, including outage planning
  • Conducts chemical readings and makes adjustments as necessary
  • Completes and maintain accurate records and files
  • Observes plant safety rules, perform assigned tasks in safe manner and be alert to unsafe conditions
  • Assist mechanical/electrical maintenance as required

Qualifications/Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Vocational or technical degree preferred.
  • AIDT Training strongly preferred
  • Ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts required
  • Minimum 5 years specialty or chemical plant operation required
  • Knowledge of distillation processes required
  • Ability to operate DCS system
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Ability to perform minor preventative maintenance
  • Ability to physically meet the needs of the job in all types of extreme weather, to include, but not limited to climbing stairs, wearing respiratory protection, lift at least 60 lbs., open and close valves, sometimes overhead or in awkward locations, climb in piperack wearing fall protection, monitoring field devices

  • Visual Ability to Inspect Media For Defects 50-60 Microns In Size
  • Previous Experience Operating Power Tools

  • Quality Control In A Manufacturing Production Environment
