Machinist Roles - CNC and Manual Machinists (2nd or 3rd shift)
Brief Description
- The Rexnord Gear Group (Falk) seeks experienced machinists for a variety of 2nd or 3rd shift openings. Openings are generally at our Canal Street facility in Milwaukee, WI; occasionally we may also seek candidates for our Product Services Renew facility in New Berlin, WI.
Key Accountabilities
- Machinists will be expected to perform the required work as it pertains to the particular role.
- Work in a team environment.
- Commitment to safety and quality.
- Various other duties as required.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous machinist experience required.
- Proficiency with basic shop math required.
- Must have experience using measuring instruments (in some cases, candidates should have ability to use a variety of precision measuring instruments to tolerances of approximately .001).
- Must be able to work 2nd or 3rd shift (one or the other).
- Commitment to working a high level of overtime is an expectation for anyone considering these positions.
Desirable Experience, Capabilities and Success Factors
- Journeyman credentials/training highly desired.
- Technical school training is a plus.
- Depending upon the position, required and desired qualifications may include experience and skill in: CNC machining centers, gear hobbing, VTC, boring bar, boring mill, lathes, and other gear manufacturing related machines.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Prior overhead crane experience could be useful in some of the roles.
- Previous experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement is helpful.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Must be self-starter and a team player.
