Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist

We have an immediate opening for a qualified Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist to work on a wide range of projects in the Western Canada oil and gas industry.  Successful candidates will join a dynamic company of motivated and hardworking professionals committed to delivering high quality engineering and environmental services.  Initiative, enthusiasm and commitment to technical excellence are all important qualities of our team members.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5+ years related experience in some or all of the following:
• Organizing and managing site investigations with a variety of drilling and sampling methods
• Terrain analysis, including air photograph interpretation
• Stability analysis of natural slopes
• Foundation design of small to medium oil and gas facilities
• Pipeline crossing designs, including horizontal directional drilling and open-cut
• Bachelors degree in related Geotechnical or Engineering Geology fields
• Registered, or qualified to be registered, as a Professional Engineer in Canada
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision
• Track record as an effective team player with good interpersonal skills
• Availability to travel within Western Canada, primarily Alberta and B.C.

Our projects include all geotechnical and geological aspects of pipeline design and maintenance, oil and gas facilities and operations support.  KCBL is also a leader in tailings management, dam designs, offshore drilling islands, plant site foundation engineering, hydrogeology, hydrotechnical and environmental and reclamation services.
